Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is honored to welcome Kimberly Murray as part of our Indigenous Speaker Series for a powerful and timely conversation on the ongoing efforts to uncover the truth behind the missing and disappeared Indigenous children associated with Indian Residential Schools in Canada. Kimberly Murray recently commenced her role as Queen’s National Scholar in Indigenous Legal Studies after serving in a historic federal appointment as the Independent Special Interlocutor for Missing Children and Unmarked Graves and Burial Sites Associated with Indian Residential Schools. In this role, she worked closely with Indigenous communities across the country to support their work in locating and documenting unmarked graves, advocating for justice, and ensuring accountability for these crimes. Ms. Murray will share her personal insights from this critical and emotional work and reflect on the responsibilities of all Canadians in addressing the intergenerational impacts of residential schools. This event is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of Canada's colonial legacy and to engage meaningfully in the ongoing journey toward truth, justice, and reconciliation.
