In this session, we’ll focus on ways to produce writing – in both official languages – that are gender-inclusive, consistent with our Values and Ethics Code, and representative of government efforts toward gender equality.
We’ll cover how to:
- structure writing so gender inclusion is automatic (English)
- choose strategies for “neutralizing” gender (French)
- create gender-inclusive correspondence (both languages)
- find resources and writing guides (both languages)
By the end of the session, you’ll have learned multiple strategies to make your writing more inclusive, respectful, and engaging.
Language: The first 30 minutes of this session will be presented in English and cover gender-inclusivity in English writing; the subsequent 80 minutes of the session will be presented in French and cover gender-inclusivity in French writing.
This event is part of the Administrative Event Series (AES).
