Description
Description
The Indigenous Awareness Learning Series is designed to provide learning activities and awareness on the history, barriers, opportunities, cultural contexts, traditional practices and current environment relating to the participation of Indigenous Peoples in agriculture. ISAO uses a variety of learning tools, products and information to create both formal and informal learning settings so AAFC employees can learn more on the three Indigenous groups in Canada: First Nations, Métis Nation and Inuit.
ISAO has developed our learning modules in response to the Truth and Reconciliation's Call to Action #57:
"to provide education to public servants on the history of Aboriginal Peoples, including the history and legacy of residential schools, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Treaties and Aboriginal rights, Aboriginal Law, and Aboriginal–Crown relations."
Learn more about Indigenous histories, cultures, politics and healing from Indigenous perspectives.
