The course aims to provide a foundational understanding of how pop culture not only reflects the complexities of Indigenous experiences in Canada but also challenges and enriches the broader cultural landscape.

  • The impact of colonialism and ongoing resistance and resilience.
  • The intersection of Indigenous pop culture with issues of identity, politics, and social justice.
  • Analysis of contemporary Indigenous music, literature, film, fashion, and digital media.
  • The role of social media and digital platforms in amplifying Indigenous voices.
