Description
The session will provide foundational Indigenous cultural awareness with a distinction-based (First Nations, Métis Nation, and Inuit) approach. The objective is to provide training for a basic understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories. This training is to ensure a good understanding of cultural awareness to all staff at AAFC.
The introductory session will focus on:
- Symbology
- Historic and contemporary recognition
- Political representation
- Cultures
- Similarities between First Nations, Métis Nation, and Inuit experiences
- Reconciliation
