Description
In the Indigenous Food Systems session, participants will be able to identify and understand traditional and contemporary First Nations, Inuit and Red River Métis foodways. In addition, the following topics will be discussed:
- Information on how colonization impacted these systems and access to foods
- Challenges and current opportunities and how reconciliation plays a vital role in revitalization of Indigenous food systems
- Insights into how to be an agent of change as an AAFC employee, how to influence policy and programming and the benefits of learning about Indigenous Food Systems
This session is co-hosted by the Indigenous Support and Awareness Office and the Indigenous Science Liaison Office.
